Esty and Celina did their first wet canyon in BC to celebrate their 7th Wedding anniversary. The creek flow was pretty low, it was a beautiful sunny day and there were no real technical difficulties.

It was Monday morning and I was having a hard time getting work done. Three days had passed since I had last climbed and desperation was setting in. How desperate? "Sarah, how about we climb at Erie this evening?" Yeah, that desperate.

We left the Ham at 3pm and by 3:45 we were hiking up to Snag Buttress. This was the one chunk of stone I can remember actually finding with little trouble, so I thought it would be a good option for an evening climb. We arrived at the base of Ziz Zag in about 15 minutes, a new Erie approach speed record for me (previous record was 10 hours).

Umm so we tried to go check out spring mountain. It looks pretty cool. The black flies really sucked. Even the intern got banged up.

So we went to Index instead and climbed Roger's Corner and Toxic Shock. We got some food at the Alpen Drive through - complete with fresh Raspberry shakes.

I worshiped Ned climbing Toxic Shock with my telephoto. Prepare for lots sequence shots after the jump.

After a successful train and car trip to the trailhead including score blue bags and a permit at Marblemount Ranger Station Ned and I crashed right along side of Cascade River Road.

We got going pretty leisurely after talking about how to beat the heat the next day.
